Samhita — Sitar with Crossover Large Ensemble · 2025
The Artist
Hindol Deb is a sitarist and composer whose work begins with the depth of Hindustani classical music and opens into jazz, world music and cross-cultural collaboration. Trained by his father Sri Panchanan Sardar and the renowned gurus Pandit Santosh Banerjee and Pandit Deepak Choudhury, he brings a deeply rooted classical practice into contemporary musical dialogue.
His artistic life moves between solo raga performance, chamber collaboration, the world-jazz quartet, the large crossover ensemble Samhita and orchestral work. Across festivals and stages in India, Europe and North America, Hindol creates spaces where tradition is heard as a living, exploratory language.
